Job Title: Level 4 RN - L&D Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in OB, L&D, and/or Postpartum License: Current unencumbered RN license in Ohio Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: Experience in OB, L&D, and/or Postpartum nursing Description: The Level 4 RN - L&D is a professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education. This role utilizes the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The nurse acts as a liaison among physicians, patients, and families. Collaboration with other healthcare team members is essential. The RN assists in the orientation process of new personnel. Participation in health center and department committees may occur. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care specific to the patient population. Duties include conducting comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients. The RN participates in establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data. Implementation and evaluation of the plan of care according to identified patient goals and outcomes are required. Documentation must be completed according to established standards. Assessing patient readiness to learn and implementing individualized education plans is essential. Active participation in nursing or unit-based initiatives is expected. Age-appropriate care must be provided according to organizational standards. All functions must comply with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards. The RN is expected to provide an excellent service experience to all customers.
