Job Summary

The People Function Director, Corporate Functions NA acts as a key strategic business partner, facilitator, and liaison for people function related activities to the Corporate Function teams in North America. The individual is responsible for designing and executing the People Function strategy in close partnership with the Chief Medical Officer, VP of Finance, General Counsel and IT leaders. The People Function Director is also working with the regional People Function Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Specialists, People Function Generalists, and administrative functions that provide support and services to client groups.

This Director level role is proactively involved in developing, maintaining, and ensuring consistency with our People Function practices, policies, procedures, and programs; responsible for assisting client groups with talent acquisition, performance management, talent management and employee relations issues; assisting client groups with creating and maintaining a highly engaged workforce; facilitating training, and other programs and activities as needed by the business. The position works closely with the Corporate People Functions such as compensation, benefits, talent, and external consultants to ensure consistency with implementing and/or facilitating key processes, policies, procedures, and activities.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

• Providing active and visible leadership for assigned client groups by facilitating People Function activities that directly impact and enable the business.
• Providing consultation to functional leaders on aligning the people strategy with business strategy.
• Assessing and developing organizational structure and design to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Facilitating change management processes.
• Driving employee engagement processes and collaborating closely with client groups to assess key areas of opportunities from the employee engagement survey and putting effective action plans into place.
• Implementing, supporting, and driving initiatives related to wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.
• Assisting with and providing guidance on all phases of the performance management cycle (objective setting, midyear reviews, annual reviews, and individual development plans).
• Facilitating and driving the Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Succession Planning processes.
• Being actively involved in the talent acquisition process for client groups and assisting with establishing partnerships and recruitment efforts with selected universities.
• Assisting client groups with workforce planning by understanding key trends within the department, company, industry, and the economy and proactively making recommendations to address opportunities and challenges.
• Advising management and employees on employee relations issues, including performance and policy related issues to maximize productivity and employee morale while minimizing adverse impact to the company.
• Working closely with management and employees to assess leadership and managerial needs and recommending training and development programs as needed.
• Working with department managers to identify and assist with employee development and providing mentoring and coaching as needed.
• Assisting with developing and delivering workshops on topics including, but not limited to, employee relations, employee engagement, development planning, performance management, talent management and basic managerial skills training.
• Administering, interpreting, and making recommendations on Company people function policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Providing people function reporting and analysis as necessary using available data and metrics.
• Assisting management and employees on compensation related matters.
• In conjunction with corporate staff and third-party consultants, may assist with the Affinity Action plans.
• Overseeing domestic and international relocations for their respective sites including collaborating with external partners for VISA applications and tax equalization where needed.
• Assisting with local and regional projects or initiatives.

Networking/Key relationships

• Works closely and collaboratively with members of the People Function team including regional and global people function BPs, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits as well as Corporate people function in Barcelona.
• May assist in projects implemented by Werfen Corporate people function in Barcelona, Spain.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in HR or People Function profession including experience directly supporting client groups from an operational and strategy perspective
• Minimum 5 years of experience business partnering with senior client groups at VP level
• Proven track record of having lead the design and implementation of a people strategy with impactful actions that have lead to better business results and/order transformation
• Strong background in employee relations/employment law
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability in areas such as talent management, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, change management, coaching
• Strong MS Office skills including (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, MS Copilot) are required

Travel requirements:

10% of time, both domestic and international as needed

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $210,000 to $250,000. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave.Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management,and select professional roles,are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
